Home...sweet home!

Since I last posted, my baby has turned 2! It was like she changed over night! She's always had her own "speical" attitude, now it's just bigger, louder and smarter!

She amazes me every day with information she retains, the amount of words she puts together and how she's growing, even her hair! For example we had pig tails in our hair for the first time!

Well, back to the title of this post, Home! We recently visited Alex's sister and her husband in their first home. They have really made it their own! It got me imagining, when and where Alex and my first home will be. What I might do decoration wise, how many rooms it will have and what our lives will be like then.

Until that day when we can burst into the housing market, I'm trying to make our current basement suite "OURS" We've been here a little over 4 months and so far it's felt quite cluttered with boxes at first and then Keeva stuff everywhere ( I have since gone through and down sized her giant collection of "stuff") But with a little organization and a couple trips to our storage shed, I feel this place is finally starting to feel like home, it may not be ours but we are making it fit!

Alex has told me time and again, he doesn't like living in the city and I would prefer to not have neighbours above our heads but until the dream of owning our own chunk of something comes to reality I think we will remain quite happy here!

Patience is one of those things you long to have and get impatience waiting for, so I guess the only thing to do pray and wait and wait and pray!

Until next time my friends,

Chels

First Post

I have decided to start a blog! Mostly to keep those friends and family who are not nearby up to date on the McDonald Family!

Alex, Keeva and I are staying at Alex's parents house this week to house sit.

We have 2 dogs, 1 cat, 300ish baby chicks and a bunch of flowers to watch over! It is keeping me quite busy! (but it is also REALLY fun!)

Keeva loves the chicks and chats with them every time we go up to feed them.

Speaking of Keeva, she is amazing me every day! With new words she's trying out and being able to now understand most of what I'm saying and actually obey it! We are now anxiously awaiting her 2nd birthday! These 2 years have gone by super quick! (Those of you expecting your first babies, cherish it...write everything down...you forgot so quickly!)

As for Alex he is loving his job even more everyday! (For those who don't know he is an apprentice joiner) He is also the worship leader at the Salvation Army church we attend and he is also quite invovled in the local Barbershop Chorus and some quartets! I got me a talented man!

An update on me...well, I have almost been with our local Ford Dealership for 1 year. I work part time there and full time at home, and absolutly love it!

I am also learning every day how awesome it is to me a mom and wife! God had blessed me with some very Godly women to look up to and for that I am so thankful!

Recently I have discovered a verse that I read daily and am trying to follow. Proverbs 31:10-31

I would encourage any ladies who are wanting to follow God's teachings to read and re-read that verse. My personal bible is a woman's devtional bible and there is a paragraph in one of devotion's I love..."Homemaking is unique in combining the menial jobs with the most meaningful tasks: it is a challange to accommodate others without losing one's own identity: it is a demanding pursuit, but the fringe benefits are terrific!"

I hope you enjoy this post and the ones to follow!

Note** Please excuse any grammer or spelling mistakes, that is not a gift I have been blessed with!
